Virtual Locality Tours
Our virtual musuem tour creates an impression of actually visiting and viewing our collection. (Check it
out if you haven't already done so.) But our desire to impart vicarious thrills doesn't just end there! Arizona
has many world famous mineral localities, and we're taking virtual reality technology on the road to bring you
classic mineral areas up close and personal. Our first stop is Bisbee!

Bisbee, Arizona
|
This tour features the historic mining town of Bisbee in
Southeastern Arizona. Bisbee was founded in 1880 and is located in one of the largest copper deposits in the world.
Over eight billion pounds of copper along with millions of ounces of gold, silver, lead, and zinc were mined from
the mineral rich Mule Mountains. Around the turn of the century, Bisbee was home to 35,000 people which made the
town the largest in Arizona. Today, only a few thousand still live in the area where tourism, arts, and crafts
are the main activities.
This tour covers a few of Bisbee's famous landmarks including the Lavender Pit, Queen Mine, Copper Queen Hotel,
Muheim House, and St. Patrick's Church. |
