The Arizona Mineral and Mining Museum Foundation was formed to support the Arizona Mining and Mineral Museum.

We have a lot going on , Foundationers!

Our Collaboration with the Museum and the MSA to make the all time biggest Museum Family Day a success is coinciding with the production of our first Embroidered Logo Wear!  Perfect timing, with the Holidays and Mineral show season coming up, and many of you wondering "What can I do to show my appreciation to that wry, irreverent Newsletter Editor on my shopping list?".  An Arizona Mineral and Mining Museum Foundation Logo Jacket, Hat, and Tee Shirt would be perfect!

We will proudly go to Tucson, our Jacket blazing with our Foundation's Colors, provided some of you Fashion Gifted members come help choose the proper shades and tints!  Marina wants to meet with us to make our selections early in September, so she can have a sewn out Jacket (in my size, I hope!) for us to admire at the Meeting.

Thursday, September 21, at our regular meeting, we will be learning what jobs need to be done to make the Family Day a smooth success, and picking one or more for our own.  If you miss the meeting, Les will pick a job for you.

We will also need to let Sylvia know how many of us will be coming to the Friday Evening Dinner on October 20th, for Foundation and MSA members, and those participating in the Family Day produc

tion.  This promises to be a special evening, as our Annual Presale for Members will be opened to our Family Day co-sponsors participation (though many members belong to both organizations, anyway).  The Dinner will be special, considering Sylvia's talent for putting up a tasty spread.

I still haven't gotten to the Engravers to make our Plaque for the Gallery Door, but I will make an effort to have all the info by the meeting.

I have been allowed to sponsor a Geology Club at Arrowhead Elementary School this coming year.  Many of the kids that have benefited from the Foundation's generosity in the past have graduated to Middle School, and my own children have moved on to another school, but I think I owe these kids a chance to learn more, now that we have whet their appetites!  I hope you will all help me.

I am out of the habit of writing for our Newsletter, as so many of you have been submitting such interesting pieces.  There really hasn't been much room for my Rantings, or my Ramblings, and the Newsletter certainly did not suffer much for that.  Please write just a few paragraphs or pages about your adventures and travels this past summer, and send me some Rockhounding pictures to share!  You are making this a Lot of Fun!
Steve
