Old Business

Sign above the Gallery Door - Steve said he will check on an engraver for the plaque outside the gallery door.

Volunteer Efforts at the Museum - Charlie Connell said that there has been a good response to the request for volunteers.  He said the campaign has been effective.  He also stated that more help is needed at the front desk.  Charlie offered to present a report of the volunteer campaign at the next meeting.  Mason said that coverage is needed for the paid Museum workers when they go on their vacations.  Charlie said that Doug Duffy has a plan on getting some help from the outside to complete the upstairs of the Museum.

Logo/Patch - Steve displayed some of the logo samples and pointed out that there were some samples in the last newsletter, also.  Discussion followed on the logo samples.  It was pointed out that a decision needs to be made on the name of the foundation before proceeding with a logo. Christine suggested that the logo design could vary on the pieces of clothing, for instance, put the full logo on the back of a shirt.

New Business

Case for New Donations - Les asked everyone to take a look at the new donation up in the Flagg Room, which is a huge Calcite crystal, and said he also needs help getting it out of the box.  He said it would be a good idea to have a case labeled "New Donations" down on the main floor of the Museum and suggested that it would be a good way to advertise the foundation.

Foundation Involvement with GeoExpositions Show in 2000 - Les said that Karen Wenrich talked to him at the Tucson Show.  She would like to have approximately 10 display cases.  In exchange for their involvement, the foundation would be given a table to do with as they please.  The dates for the show are November 3 through November 5 (Friday through Sunday), with setup day on Thursday, November 2.  Discussion followed.  Les will communicate with Karen to find out when they need an answer from the foundation.  Lois suggested that if GeoExpositions is willing to pay for the parking for those participating from the foundation, that it would be a more negotiable proposition.
