2007 Annual Meeting Minutes (Draft) Arizona Mineral and Mining Museum Foundation January 4, 2007

Ray Grant called the meeting to order.
A. Minutes of the November Meeting Ray asked for comments about the November Board Meeting minutes as published in the Newsletter. No changes were suggested. He mentioned that members are always welcome to attend the Foundation's regular meetings.
B. Treasurer's Report Darrel Dodd reported that the Foundation CD was recently rolled over and that the checking account balance is around five thousand dollars.
C. Committee Reports 1. Collection Committee (Bill Yedowitz) Bill summarized efforts in sorting and pricing recent donations. He asked that members interested in joining the committee to provide their e-mail address. He also requested leads on additional donations. He thanked committee members for their support over the past year.
Ray mentioned that the Museum is part of Phoenix's First Friday Art Walk from 6-10 p.m. He encouraged members to volunteer to help open the Flagg Gallery and check out the Collection's new organization and labels.

2. Website www.AZMinFun.com also www.flaggshow.info Harvey Jong described the 2007 New Year's mineral ball animation that features a prehnite ball from Mali. This specimen was provided by Sam Nasser.
Ray pointed out that the Foundation has a second Web address, www.flaggshow.info, that is used to provide details on the Flagg Show.
3. Newsletter (Steve Decker) Steve requested funds to publish the next Newsletter. He indicated that the deadline for submitting articles is mid February.
Steve provided Bill with a list of previous Kid's Corner contest winners. He also read a thank you letter from a winner who lives in Brooklyn, New York.
4. Symposium - 2007 - Saturday, March 10 Ray pointed out that a symposium program is now available and that members on the mailing list will be receiving a program shortly.
a. Registration He encouraged members to register early and indicated that the deadline is Mar. 4.
5. Field Trips Ray asked for ideas and volunteers to help organize field trips. He indicated that for the past three years a trip has been scheduled after the Symposium. No trip, however, has been announced for this year due to a lack of time and ideas for suitable new locations.
6. Flagg Show - 2007 (January 5,6,7) a. Need help with sales Friday, Saturday and Sunday b. Especially need help with clean up on Sunday at 5 PM
Ray asked members to volunteer to help during and after the show. Darrel also mentioned that help was needed to haul/store the minerals and other show items until Monday.
