The Arizona Mineral and Mining Museum Foundation was formed to support the Arizona Mining and Mineral Museum.

Museum Family Day 2006
Fall Family Day will be at the Museum on Saturday October 28 from 10 AM to 4 PM (note date change from the last newsletter). This annual event has grown to be quite a destination. Parking and admission are free. There will be lots of activities such as gold panning and gold prospecting, free rock and mineral identification, free crafts for kids to make (pet rocks, jewelry, and rock ID cards) and many demonstrations.
The AMMMF is a co-sponsor of Family Day and will have its semi-annual mineral sale (the other is at the Flagg Show). There will be dealers selling minerals and the Foundation will be selling some of its duplicate material. Call Darrel Dodd (phone 480-575-5214) if you are interested in being a dealer at family day. Set up will be Friday afternoon from 1 to 5 and dealers must bring their own tables. Space will cost $20 for each table a dealer wants to set up.

Russ Osterhout demonstrates his faceting skills.

September Meeting Speaker
The regular September meeting will be on Thursday September 21 at 7:00 PM.   Someone knowledgeable will be speaking about an interesting mineral topic. Plan to attend this informative program. There will be a short business meeting before the mystery speaker.
