Join the Foundation
The Arizona Mineral and Mining Museum Foundation was formed to support the Arizona Mining and Mineral Museum.  Over the years, many Benefactors have donated cherished collections, and though all are greatly appreciated, they can not all be displayed. We preserve what we can, and hold sales to allow others to add these treasures to their personal collections. The proceeds are used to acquire specimens and fund Museum projects.
Foundation Activities
The Foundation holds the Flagg Show each January at Mesa  Community College, and hosts a Symposium each March on Arizona Minerals and Localities. A sale is held at the Museum in October in conjunction with The Museum Family Day. We go on fieldtrips to working mines such as The Red Cloud, that might not be available to individual collectors.

In 1991, Doug helped the Museum move from the Fairgrounds to its present location where he worked as a Tour Guide.
In late 1992, Doug and fellow volunteers worked to clean out a room and turn it into a lapidary shop.

It was Doug's suggestion to put windows between the Museum and the lapidary shop so visitors can watch workers in the lapidary shop.
Doug Duffy became a Foundation Board Member in 1994.
By the time he retired the first time in 2002, Doug had certified 351 students in lapidary art 115 silversmithing students.
