Chairman's Letter     By Ray Grant

This year's Flagg Show was one of the best ever. We were on live television from the college for the first time.
Thanks to Sue and Marc Fleischer for their hard work on publicity. Also, thanks to all the people who helped with pricing minerals for the sale, moving the material from the trailer to the college, sales at the show, kid's give away, and clean up including - Lavone Archer Darrel Dodd, Larry Dodd, Glenn Hoffman, Jack and Genie Howell, Jeff and Kim Johnson, Harvey Jong, Chuck Kominski, John Mooney, Vince Nichols, Tony Occhuizzi, Kathleen, Erica, Alison, and Phil Richardson, Dana and Brenda Slaughter, John Weide, Bill Yedowitz, and Dick Zimmerman Thank you all and anyone I missed for making it a great Show; we could not do it without you.
Many people have donated material to the Foundation during the past year, both specimens for the sale and things to give the children. Donors include Andy Clark, Dave Douglas, Genie Howell, Yang and Bin Hu, Jeff Langland, Les Presmyk, Ed Schaffer, Mike Shannon, and George Stevens. Thank you all for your generous donations.
Please take a look in your garage for good stuff that we can use for future sales and really good stuff that we can give to children. They are our future.
The Tucson show has come and gone for another year. The amount of material moved to Tucson for the show is over whelming. Every year there are more, bigger and better mineral specimens. There were 34 venues with shows this year and the shows were spread over more than two weeks. There were 19 shuttle routes to get people around town, although at times it is more confusing then helpful. The Tucson Show is truly an international event. We are fortunate to have it so close so we can attend it.
Check the upcoming events in this newsletter and plan to attend one or more our activities this year.
