Respectfully submitted,
Harvey Jong, Secretary

(Continued from page 4)

no interest was expressed.
The Flagg Show poster design has been completed with the addition of some photos of 79 mine minerals from George Godas' collection. Harvey presented a preliminary proof print; however, he pointed out that the colors are not accurate due to problems in bringing up a new printer along with a new ink set. He also introduced a scaled down version of the poster for a table tent display. He indicated that he has already received some poster requests and expressed concern about the upcoming start of the mineral show season and the late availability of posters. There was some discussion on increasing the size of the poster. Phil pointed out that previous year posters were printed using Harvey's printer and suggested that the Foundation help subsidize the poster printing. Bill moved to provide funds to compensate Harvey for the new printer and supplies. Dana seconded the motion. The motion passed.

Old Business

1. Mineral Acquisitions
Phil
reported that he contacted George Godas about the Foundation purchasing a suite of 79 mine minerals. He indicated that George had already sold his large cabinet specimens to the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum, but some smaller pieces were still available. Phil described some of these specimens and mentioned that George would provide a special discount to the Foundation along with two flats of reference minerals. There was some discussion on prices along with the scarcity of quality Smithsonites and Aurichalcites. This was followed by a lengthy discussion on the Foundation Collection's focus and priorities.
Phil suggested that a small group of Collection Committee members meet at George's house next Sunday to examine the minerals and make some recommendations.
2. Family Day
Darrel asked Sue Celestian about what the Museum needed for Family Day and provided a check to cover expenses for materials and food/refreshments for volunteers.

The copper display in the Flagg Gallery shows the careful organization and labeling work of the Collection committee.  Great job, folks!

Zach Shannon, David Michael Shannon II and Mike Shannon select choice specimens from the Flagg Sale tables at the Museum Family Day for their personal collections.
