Chairman's Letter
The hot, hot summer should soon be over when you read this newsletter. So get ready for the fall and spring activities of the Foundation.
In the future, we will try to have a short program at each of our business meetings and hope to get more members to participate. We have five meetings a year. The annual meeting in January at the time of the Flagg Show, and regular meetings in March, May, September, and November. They are usually on a Thursday night although the exact Thursday changes according to outside activities such as the Denver Show. Everyone is welcome, so come to a meeting and learn about our activities and how you can help.
Our next big event is Family Day at the Museum (Saturday, October 15). This has grown over the years and has become a successful event for the Museum. The Foundation will have a sale of material at Family Day and Foundation members will be allowed in an hour early to get first chance at the sale. But, even better if you are interested in getting material come and volunteer at the work day at the trailer on Saturday, October (see the calendar for details) and get a chance to purchase a few specimens before the sale.
Also in October are the annual Trona Show and field trips and the Conservation workshop at the Mesa Southwest Museum (both described elsewhere in this newsletter). Several members are working hard on publicity for the Flagg Show in January 2006 and any contribution that you can make will be appreciated.  Help us by telling your friends, talking about it at clubs to which you belong, putting up posters, giving out flyers, or contacting any one you know who can help us get out the word. Lavone Archer has posters and flyers (elabaso4@cox.net) and Marc Fleischer has public service announcements and publicity information (mfleischer@aimmedia.com).
The Foundation has about 110 paid family members, four life members, and twenty 100 hour volunteer members. Thank you all for your support,
please attend some of our events and even help on some of our projects.
