The Arizona Mineral and Mining Museum Foundation was formed to support the Arizona Mining and Mineral Museum.

Family Day, Oct. 15, 2005  by Ray Grant
     The annual family day will be held on Saturday October 15, 2005 from 10 AM to 4 PM at the Museum.
     There will projects for children, demonstrations of carving, sphere making, and the other lapidary arts, gold panning, and lots of other activities.
     The Foundation will have its usual family day sale. Foundation members will be allowed in at 9
AM for a chance to be first to purchase material.   
     There also will be other dealers selling at Family Day. Darrel Dodd is in charge of the Foundation sale and the upstairs dealers.

New Director for The Arizona Department of Mines and Mineral Resources

     On August 15, 2005, Madan M. Singh became the Director of the Arizona Department of Mines and Mineral Resources.
     Dr. Singh has had a distinguished career as a mining engineer and brings a wide range of experience and expertise to the Department. Some of the areas in which he has worked include mining, subsidence, rock mechanics, soil mechanics, hydrogeology, and nuclear waste disposal. He is the author of over 105 technical publications and has been very active in several professional organizations serving on many local and national committees.
     We welcome Dr. Singh and look forward to working with him in the future.

Fourteenth Annual Minerals of Arizona Symposium by Ray Grant
     The Minerals of Arizona Symposium will be Saturday March 11, 2006 (Note the earlier date). Several speakers have been recruited, but we need a few more. If you are interested in being a speaker contact Ray Grant by e-mail at raycyn@cox.net.

Arizona Mineral and Mining Museum Foundation Chairman Ray Grant welcomes Dr. Madan M. Singh, new Director of the Arizona Department of Mines and Mineral Resources, with Charles F.Connell Jr., Chairman of the Board of Friends of the Museum.
