Flagg Show 2005

The Flagg Show was great this year!  The Annual meeting on Thursday was well attended, and was followed by our traditional Member's Only Presale.
Our Foundation offered a wonderful selection of minerals thanks to donations from several benefactors and well-made purchases of old collections.  I found a Bisbee native copper specimen from the collection of Mason Coggin, past director of the Arizona Department of Mines and Mineral Resources.
The first day of the show was cool and cloudy.  Even though we all expected rain, the weather gave us fresh washed air to breath, and three great days of mineral collecting with our "silver picks"!
The MSA had the popular Mineral Wheel of Fortune, and the Leaverite's Mardy Zimmermann made inexpensive egg carton rock collections for the kids.
For the first time we had mineral displays at the Flagg Show.  I hope this turns into a tradition!
Another very successful show,  thanks to the many mineral-loving volunteers.

Gary Spraggins has become a master of crystal creation.  His Copper Sulfate crystals would be the mineral Chalchanthite if they were naturally formed.

Harvey Jong manning the Foundation tables in the early morning hours.

The MSA Wheel of Fortune always pays off with great specimens!

Phil Richardson, Dana Slaughter, and other members displayed selected minerals, and the Peralta Stones were on exhibit too.

Steve Kaminski and his son Mason appreciated the variety and quality of minerals offered at the pre-sale.
