The Arizona Mineral and Mining Museum Foundation was formed to support the Arizona Mining and Mineral Museum.

Dave Shannon, 1942 - 2004

     I first met Dave Shannon at the Red Cloud mine at New Years in 1975. He was camped out at the mine with a bunch of kids and they were collecting wulfenite. At midnight on New Year's Eve he set off a stick of dynamite. This was the beginning of a friendship that would last for 29 years.

New Foundation Formed

     There are now two Foundations to support the Arizona Mining and Mineral Museum. Our group (AMMMF) and the newly formed Friends of the Arizona Mining and Mineral Museum (FAMMM). The new foundation was formed specifically to raise funds for Museum exhibits, and their first project is to obtain funds for the Copper Room in the Museum.

     Memberships in the new Foundation are offered in several categories:

Individual   ……………….   $20/year
Family        ………………..  $30/year
Patron        .……………….. $250/year

     The purpose of the Arizona Mineral and Mining Museum Foundation (AMMMF), although similar to the FAMMM, covers a wider range of activities. The following eight goals are a part of our articles of incorporation.

1. To advance and foster terrestrial or earth sciences
