Pictures From the Purple Passion, and the Looting of the Stope of Doom
We were invited to visit Ed Davis' claims north of Wickenburg on Sunday morning, April 8th, 2001. Ed showed us the Geodes embedded in a cliff, above where we had previously found them beside the road.  He took us to Amethyst hill, and showed us green, earthy Cerargyrite and Cerussite, Smokey Quartz and Fluorite.  Then he took us to the Purple Passion, where they had just done a lot of expensive work with large equipment.  We collected lustrous Wulfenite crystals, some of the best I have seen from this mine.  After our visit, someone vandalized the mine, pulling down the wall (by Darrel's left shoulder in the picture below) that held the lovely crystals.
Please encourage everyone to respect the Property of others when collecting.  Posted claims and warnings must be respected, or we all lose our welcome.  Watch for Ed's stolen Wulfenite.  If you find out who the vandals are, tell them to stop it.  (Pictures by Harvey Jong)
